When to fill out the form?

It is recommended that you complete the form before your trip and boarding (and before the first boarding if you have a stopover). You may be asked for a code at check-in and / or upon arrival at the Canadian airport by one of the immigration officers.

Please note, however, that when the Public Health Canada mentions that “the Arrive-CAN app does not ask you to provide a COVID-19 test result” (PCR TEST), this does not mean that the online app replaces the COVID-19 test. It is mandatory to provide a PCR test 72 hours maximum before boarding. Border officers will ask you for the ArriveCAN code and the PCR test result

When you have landed in Canada

You will need to keep your Arrive-CAN application during the whole duration of the quarantine. The application can be removed after the 14th day, but not before.

You will normally receive a notification every day between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. via the app, but also by email. This notification is made to remind people who have returned to communicate their symptoms daily.
